Develop initial façade concepts aligned with the building’s design intent

Evaluate and compare façade system options based on aesthetics, performance, durability, maintenance, constructability, and cost

Define the building envelope and Basis of Design (BOD)

Provide recommendations for the optimal façade strategy

Define façade systems, framing criteria and facade zones requirements

Coordinate with other disciplines that will impact on the facade design: architecture, structural, MEP/sustainability, acoustics, and fire safety

Produce demarcation elevations, typical details, and outline specifications

Develop interface details for complex and non-typical areas

Prepare façade performance specifications and documentation for tender

Assist with contractor selection, including auditing fabrication facilities if needed

Evaluate contractor proposals, alternative systems, and technical compliance

Attend tender meetings and provide summary reports with scoring of shortlisted contractors

Update design documents to reflect any changes from tender feedback

Provide complete construction-ready façade documentation

Conduct design reviews to ensure feasibility, coherence, and adequacy of façade packages

Supervise fabrication and installation, including shop drawings and material approvals

Perform QA/QC inspections at fabrication and construction stages

Form finding, surface rationalization, and panel optimization

Cold bending analysis and parametric design solutions for complex façades
